Little treasures of Edinburgh

I am currently working on my master's dissertation and being at home, on my computer all day makes me want to do some online shopping but I have shown self restraint so far! Anyway, my dissertation is about window displays in small fashion businesses and through my research I have come across all these little boutiques that offer many times products that you cannot find in bigger stores. What wins you over in these shops (even if they offer products and brands that you can find elsewhere) is the cozy environment, the smile of the owners that are there to help you with anything you need! So if you ever come to Edinburgh look for them! They are really worth the visit even just for browsing! Some of them offer 10% student discounts for those currently studying!
You can find handbags and accessories at Covet on Thistle Street and at Lilies & Dreams on St Stephen Street in Stockbridge, previously owned handbags and accessories at Handbag Heaven Exchange on Howe Street, clothes and accessories for women at Eden on North West Circus Place, handmade clothes and accessories at Athena Boutique on West Bow (Grassmarket) and there are many others on Thistle Street, the Stockbridge area and Bruntsfield Place. Just go and check them out!

God save the queen (of pop)!

On Saturday Madonna gave her first concert in Scotland ever and I was there. I was lucky enough to be in the golden triangle just in front of the stage!! It was the second time to see her live (first one was in Athens in 2008) and it seems like she doesn't get older, just better! The weather was quite warm so I had the opportunity to wear my new H&M top and I was in a pastel colours mood. Since I was standing I needed comfortable shoes and what better than one of my Converse All Star pairs. I had had them for so many years but they still manage to survive! Also I needed a small bag that would fit the essentials but would not stop me from moving freely and would allow me full control at all times so I decided to wear this Tous small bag that can be worn either cross-body or around the waist. The blazer is H&M as well, the jeans Calvin Klein Jeans, the necklace from Accessorize and the sunglasses from Primark.

Ray of sunshine on a rainy, busy day

Today I left quite early for the university to work on a report and then on my dissertation. It has been raining again all day and of course that does not put me in the best mood. However, a while ago that I returned back home a pleasant surprise was waiting for me. My order from H&M had arrived and was waiting for me on the couch. Luckily my boyfriend was at home and received the package! Of course the first thing I did after entering the apartment and putting down my bag was to open the package and try the clothes on and they fit me just fine. This time I bought a pair of jeans and a mint green top that feels like summer. Although the weather is not giving much hope that I will get to wear it soon, I am happy to share pictures of it with you!

One for the boys

Some time ago a very good friend of mine pointed out the fact that I focus only on fashion for women. He said that since he is a regular reader of my blog he was hoping I would write things about boy fashion. Although my boyfriend always seeks my advice, he is not really into shopping and fashion and therefore I don't have as much material to share with you!
Boys are unlucky because they don't have so many options as we girls do! Apart from the clothes we have so many options in accessorising with different shoe styles, purses, jewellery, scarfs... An important accessory for boys are the belts! Different materials, patterns, colours or even the buckles give the opportunity to express the uniqueness of the style that every guy has. With the Diamond Jubilee memorabilia surrounding us here in the UK, my boyfriend decided to buy this Union Jack flag belt. Find the one that is appropriate for you!

Wake up call!

Today I was woken up by the doorbell and I quickly got off bed with my messy hair to open the door. I happily discovered that it was the delivery man bringing me my order from ASOS!! At the beginning of the week, feeling blue because of the cloudy weather and with the sales on I decided to do some online shopping... So as you will see in the pictures I decided to buy a shirt dress and a top, both on sale! The shirt dress is in this lovely colour and with the appropriate accessories it can be worn all day long! The top with the gingerbread man pattern will give me a feeling of Christmas all year long :)
Now all I have to do is wait for my H&M online order to arrive ;)

These mice are made for walking!

Although I have had this pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs flats for some time now, I still love them! They were not a planned buy. I had bought a DKNY bag from a well known chain store in Greece that sells shoes and bags of big brands. The bag had a problem with the clasp after using it only a few times. I returned it to the store and they tried to have it repaired without success so they gave me store credit. It was sales season and when I saw the shoes I knew I had to have them and the fact that they were 50% off meant I didn't have to pay a lot extra from the credit so this is how they became mine. Every season Marc by Marc Jacobs has different mouse flats launched, with different materials and colours. I hope that I will be able to buy a pair every now and then so that I create a collection of them soon!

Courtesy of a fashionable sister

My visit to my sister is over, I am back home and working on my dissertation. While I was with her we had the opportunity to go shopping together. We were discussing about how we both like palazzo trousers but neither of us already owned a pair since we were not sure that they would suit us. So when we went shopping we entered Primark and we found palazzo trousers on sale and we decided to try them on. It turned out that we looked good in them and the price was so low that we went for them. When we reached the cashier my sister told me that she would buy them for me so  I am ready to rock my palazzo trousers thanks to her! Now I have to figure out what I need  to match them and I have a feeling I will need some tops very soon especially now that sales are on!
