26 and fabulous Vol. 2

Having assignments to do really works up my appetite for updating my blog.  Now I am doing my last one but I promise that I will keep on posting new things. I have a whole summer to do my dissertation, that will definitely make me want to be distracted!
In my last post I presented the birthday gift that my friends gave me. Today it is time to present the birthday gift that my boyfriend gave me. An absolutely spring-summer full skirt from Primark that I can't wait to start wearing. Maybe next week that the Easter break starts and I will be able to leave the house again and enjoy the city as long as the weather allows it!

26 and fabulous!

Two days ago it was my birthday and my friends Mirella, Vaso and Marylise surprised me at the uni with a sweet during the lunch break and a gift. As we are all fashion marketing students, the gift couldn't but be fashion related... The girls went for an envelope clutch and a small ballerina necklace, both from Accessorize, since they know how much I love purses and distinct necklaces. So I am sharing my lovely gifts with you! Can't wait to start wearing them!!

Stripe-mania!

On Friday I was walking around the centre of the city, waiting for my boyfriend to meet me for coffee so what was I to do? I went browsing in Primark with no intention of buying anything. I just wanted to see what was new, I didn't need anything! But oh well...There were things  that were talking to me and the low prices can really convince you to make a purchase...I have always liked stripes and lately I am really getting fond of  navy blue so I went for a long skirt and a top that both have blue stripes. I can't wait for the weather to get better so that I get to wear them!! Oh and by the way, I really have to stop shopping!!!

Amazing find!

Back to the blog, two days in a row, you can imagine my lack of concentration on my assignment that is due Thursday!!
People that know me are well aware of the fact that I am not a jewellery girl. I am not convinced "Diamonds are a girl's best friend". I am more of a "Shoes and Bags are a girl's best friend" type of girl. Most of the pieces I own have been given to me as presents.
I do however enjoy the quirky, original necklaces with animals, teapots, babushkas, robots, wellies and anything else that can attract my attention. As I was walking around the centre of the city today, I found a girl that makes herself this type of necklaces and I just couldn't resist buying one...
I asked her how often I could find her and she told me that every weekend she is there with new designs so there is a big chance I will become her most frequent customer....
This is the photo of my find this week, maybe I will have a new next weekend (?)!

My LBD

It is again this time of the semester that all the assignments are due and of course concentrating on the actual work is the last thing in the world I want to do. So I decided to share the story of my new LBD.
It wasn't my intention to buy it, it wasn't even my intention to go shopping that day! I was asked to go for my buying assignment to visit the Laura Ashley store. I was supposed to look at the dresses so that I get to know the products of the brand. And there was a sale rack... That was the beginning of the end. I saw this very simple  black dress but with a small twist, a small embroidery of sequins around the hem. And it had a 50% discount! I put it back but then I picked it up again. It was kind of calling my name...The friend who was with me convinced me to try it on. And I did. And it looked good so my friend insisted that I should buy it since I hadn't bought anything nice and fancy for myself  in a long time and I decided that she was right. So I proceeded to the cash register. And it turned out that the dress had a further discount so it was 70% off the original price so I was even more excited about my purchase!
I do blame my professor for sending me to the store! I never thought I would find something interesting for me in Laura Ashley but I was surprised in a good way! So I ended up leaving the store with a good bargain and now I can't wait for an occasion that wearing the dress will be appropriate!!
Now I just  have to go around finding the shoes and accessories to style it ;)

I present you the LBD....

What a difference a red lipstick made...

I know, I know, I am terrible!! I said I would post things during the Christmas break but then I was too into eating and catching up with friends... But I decided to share this little story with you!
Last Friday evening I was invited to a classmate's birthday gathering at her place. I didn't really spend a lot of time getting ready, we would be in a house with few people after all. So I just put a black t-shirt, my grey imitation leather full skirt and my black booties. People who know me are well aware of the fact that I am not very fond of heavy make up and I use very basic products everyday. The everyday routine is concealer, mascara and blusher. Since it was evening I just put on some black eye pencil and a red lipstick.
I have to say, the red lipstick seems to be magical. I arrived at the classmate's house and I received compliments from everyone for how beautiful I looked. People seemed to think that I had spent a lot of time on my make up but really I hadn't, just 2 minutes longer than my 2-3 minute daily routine (as long as it would take to apply the eye pencil and the lipstick).
I have to thank my friend Vaya for giving me the lipstick as a present during Christmas because every time I wear it I seem to get compliments which is really boosting my self-confidence.
So what I learned from this story is to never underestimate the power of a red lipstick!! I encourage you to try it but remember to combine it with a very natural look on your make up so that it doesn't look cheap!!

Until next time!!
