Lace and pom pom

It is safe to say that the fashion store (both brick-and-mortar and online) that I visit most often is Zara. I have been a client since their first stores opened in Athens, I was still in junior high and the brand was just starting to take off and becoming internationally recognised. Even when I couldn't fit into most of their clothes, I never stopped going in the store, buying accessories and shoes that are always a safe bet and the occasional t-shirt/sweater. Lately I have started fitting in more of their clothes so I am checking out their stuff even more frequently. In one of my visits I tried on this grey dress. Although it fit and I felt good in it I wasn't really convinced that I wanted it that much in my closet. However now that I saw it online for 199 pesos during sale and still available on my size it was immediately added on my basket.

Green and fuchsia

Sometimes you buy a garment and you love it so much that you would like to have it in any colour available since it is so comfortable. Some time ago I bought this black dress and I am very fond of it because the fabric feels good on my skin, it looks nice and it fits well.
It also came in green but I thought it would be too much to buy both although the price was very affordable. However, on my sale shopping spree I happened to find the green dress available on my and half price so I decided it was a sign that I should take it home and let it live in the same closet with its sibling.

Olive and sparkles

Consumer studies show that usually people buy more tops than bottoms such as trousers or skirts. I have come to realise that I am an unusual person since my closet has more bottoms and dresses than tops (to be honest, I have had other signs too. It isn't just the bottoms thing). I guess they catch my attention more easily and then at the end I just end up using the same basic tops over and over again. During my sale shopping spree in Zara I thought about how I could use some new tops. I didn't find many but I found this one in olive green with a very soft fabric, quite warm for colder days, simple enough to make a good match for skirts or trousers and cheap!

Shiny and fluffy

We have entered this era on the blog that I will be showing you slowly everything I have acquired during winter sales. Yes I have bought various things and as long as there are still discounted items in stores I probably won't stop. The shopaholic beast inside me, remember? However I promise I am really trying to make smart choices and buy things that I will use.
When I saw this skirt I thought that it can be quite versatile and it would be easy to style it around with the things I already have on my closet. It is black and the silver and gold threads can be combined with almost any colour. Because of its shiny properties it can be used for a day at work with flats as pictured here but it can also become an important piece for an evening out, on a more formal scenario. So now it has gained a space in my closet :)

Cats and fur

The shopaholic side of me really goes wild when it is sales season. Of course I try to contain myself and buy things I feel I will be wearing for a while; not just buy something because it is very cheap, use it once and then dispose of it. The trick is to look for pieces that had caught your eye already when they were full price and then go through the rest of the things that you think are worth.
I had been eyeing in Zara for a while these very nice shoes  but I thought they were too expensive. They are made of leather but still I was not willing to pay the 1,599 pesos (which translates to 75 USD, 70 EUR, 60 GBP aprox.) that was the original price. However now I found them on sale for 599 pesos (28 USD, 26 EUR, 22 GBP) and available on my size I just had to grab them ;)

Pink and yellow

I live in a city where the weather is very unpredictable and we are going through a very summery winter but occasionally the temperature drops. So if you are wondering why my posts are sometimes featuring coats and some other times short-sleeved dresses it is because of these sudden changes. I have a last Christmas present pending to share with you and the weather has finally allowed me to use it so here it goes. This yellow cape isn't probably something I would have bought myself. However, I love its warm colour and the fact that it can cover you up from the cold but it is not too warm as a coat. I look forward to using it in order to give pops of colour to my looks.

Ruffle and studs

One of my favourite things about January is that it is sales season in stores! I must admit I can become dangerous since I get overexcited about the low prices and buy things that maybe I won't use that much but oh, the adrenaline rush! Last week on a very unplanned, unexpected trip to the mall I was certain I would find something in Zara and of course I did. I got this grey dress that I have been laying eyes on for quite some time almost half price. It was quite cheap in the original price but with the sale I got it for 199 pesos which would translate to 8.5 Euros, 7.4 Pounds, 9.1 US Dollars.
Not half-bad right? If sale season has already started in your city, take a look. You will definitely find bargains!
