Moomins and pom poms

Although I was in Helsinki for less than 24 hours, I was lucky to be there while there was a Fashion Stock Sale going on where Finnish brands were participating and selling products at low prices and as I was curious to see the work of local designers and it was just at the centre of the city, I paid it a visit. Although I saw many interesting pieces, the things that caught my eye and I couldn't walk away from was this collection by a designer which was full of prints with Moomins.
I don't know if you recognise these very cute characters coming from a children's book and comic strip (100% from Finland) but I have been a fan since my childhood. If you don't know them, I invite you to Google them and you can find on YouTube episodes of the animated series. Of course I couldn't resist buying something from the collection, especially since the price was muuuuch lower than the original one! Oh and obviously I went for the pink option ;)

Fur and bows

In honour of Saint Patrick's Day, today it is a must to wear something green! If you don't have a dress and handbag like me, a scarf, t-shirt or pair of earrings will do. In order to continue with my Irish theme, I decided to add to the look my fur gilet from Primark.
I still love this piece as much as I did when I bought it 5 and a half years ago from the Oxford Street flagship store in London. I am one of these people that gets attached to their things and won't let them go so here I am, after all these years still using this vest I got for 20 pounds.

Green and fuchsia

Sometimes you buy a garment and you love it so much that you would like to have it in any colour available since it is so comfortable. Some time ago I bought this black dress and I am very fond of it because the fabric feels good on my skin, it looks nice and it fits well.
It also came in green but I thought it would be too much to buy both although the price was very affordable. However, on my sale shopping spree I happened to find the green dress available on my and half price so I decided it was a sign that I should take it home and let it live in the same closet with its sibling.

Catrina and crochet

It's been a month since I was in Oaxaca and although it was a short trip, it was a must to pay a quick visit to the artisan market and buy some nice presents for family, friends and myself ;)
Among the great things that one may find there, I came across these great handmade earrings of a couple of calacas, that were very cheap. I am a fool for quirky jewellery so it was only natural to buy them immediately. Aren't they adorable?

Dreamcatcher and camouflage

I probably look different in this picture than usual as I am completely make-up free. I was skeptical about sharing it at the beginning but then I decided that I just could not wait to show off another of my Christmas presents. Anyway the purpose of this blog has always been to share my personal style and outfits and I have always been far from perfect so I think it is fine to go all natural once in a while.
Since it is Wednesday it is the perfect fit for a pink outfit (Mean Girls reference) so my brand new dreamcatcher necklace is the ideal complement to make everything even pinker ;) Now I am hoping that it will also fulfill its purpose as a dreamcatcher and only bring me good dreams!

Stripes and straps

If you are following me on Instagram you probably saw the video I posted a week ago when a package from Zara arrived (it was a small Halloween treat for myself) and what a surprise, a pair of new shoes popped up! I know I have a serious shoe addiction but I just couldn't help myself, they were so pretty! So I was all excited about wearing them as soon as they got here but the weather has been quite rainy in the past days so their outing would have to wait. But the child in me just couldn't take it anymore so I decided to be brave and try to be as careful as possible to avoid stepping on puddles.
When they arrived I discovered that they are made of leather. Actually it should not come as a surprise as on the Zara website it clearly says so, however one that buys on impulse and based on design does not pay attention to this sort of details ;) So the greatest thing about them is that because of the material they are very soft and comfortable!
So I have a feeling they are about to keep me cool, stylish and cozy for quite some time in the near future :)

Beatles and tulle

The tulle skirt and the high knot bun may scream ballet but the print t-shirt, the ankle boots and the dark lips are rock and roll. I love mixing elements from different styles and creating an outfit that doesn't belong to any specific category. This is what personal style is all about after all, isn't it?

  • Black t-shirt with Beatles print/pink bucket bag: PRIMARK
  • Beige tulle skirt: H&M
  • Denim jacket: ASOS CURVE
  • Black heeled ankle boots: ASOS

Denim and stripes

Apart from jeans, denim is a great use of material in any form: skirts, jackets, even dresses are so comfortable and you can combine them with anything. And when I say anything I mean it, even with my beloved stripes. Hot pink lips are just there to give the look a boost.

  • White peep toe flats with black bows: FOREVER 21

Embroidery and straw

In order to celebrate my adoptive country's Independence Day, I am wearing this beautiful artisan top, very representative piece of work from the south of Mexico and this cute bag, the work of a young Mexican designer from the north. The rest of the look is just there to give myself a feeling of summer vacation ;)

  • Turquoise palazzo trousers/gold crossover sandals: PRIMARK
  • Black bag with gold polka dots print: LOLY IN THE SKY

Bad stripes

When it comes to outfits I feel like I have multiple personalities. Sometimes I like wearing fancy dresses and looking very formal, sometimes I am all about my jeans and very casual looks, sometimes I like to bring elements from both worlds. So here goes the mood of the day: a dress and a tiny bag to feel girly, colourful shoes to feel the positive vibes and a baseball cap to feel cool!

  • Black and white striped dress: TARGET
  • Coral flatforms with floral print: PRIMARK
  • Grey imitation crocodile skin mini bag: ZARA
  • Baseball cap: BAD

Pink Lady

Mondays are always complicated because you have to get back into the routine of work and forget about the weekend fun and focus your thoughts. Apart of strong coffee, wearing pink can have a positive impact on your mood and make the return to reality a little bit easier. Of course I would say that because I love pink. You can try with your favourite colour and see how that works out ;)
