Moomins and pom poms

Although I was in Helsinki for less than 24 hours, I was lucky to be there while there was a Fashion Stock Sale going on where Finnish brands were participating and selling products at low prices and as I was curious to see the work of local designers and it was just at the centre of the city, I paid it a visit. Although I saw many interesting pieces, the things that caught my eye and I couldn't walk away from was this collection by a designer which was full of prints with Moomins.  

I don't know if you recognise these very cute characters coming from a children's book and comic strip (100% from Finland) but I have been a fan since my childhood. If you don't know them, I invite you to Google them and you can find on YouTube episodes of the animated series. Of course I couldn't resist buying something from the collection, especially since the price was muuuuch lower than the original one! Oh and obviously I went for the pink option ;)

Flowers, sparkles and beads

You probably have noticed that bomber jackets are having a big moment as a trend. Although I was tempted to buy one the past months, I hadn't found anything available on my size that I would be excited about. However on my sale scavenger hunt I came across this one and I really liked it because of the print. I tried it on and I felt it fit well and of course having to pay just 1/3 of the original price helped me make up my mind pretty fast. Let's hope the weather will keep fresh for a little while so that I can get to wear it a few times before the summer comes ;)

Embellished and sparkly

When you want to wear jeans and a backpack in order to be comfortable to walk around but you don't want to look basic just go for some sparkles. They will definitely give your outfit elegance and for some playfulness add a pom pom ;)

Sporty quilt

It is casual Friday so athletic footwear is permitted. However looking girly and cool is key so combining your trainers with a floral dress and a nice bag will do the trick. Comfortable, pretty and ready to go through the last day of work before the weekend!

Cats and sparkles

People have different coping mechanisms for when they are going through difficulties. When I need something to make me feel better I like to shop.  Shoes might not be able to solve your problems but they are good for your soul. Especially when they are pink, sparkly and 50% off!

Lace and stripes

The first time I got my hair cut short like this was when I was in junior high and it was considered an act of rebellion by my father who always insisted that I have my hair long. 

That same summer that I got the hair cut I remember I was wearing a pink, plastic choker constantly, hardly every took it off. Chokers have become a trend again for some time now but I was hesitant about getting one. But when I was this pink one I knew that I had to have it and revive my old look.

Lace instead of plastic is definitely a grown-up upgrade!

Tulle and canvas

I have had this tulle skirt for about 4 years now and I just can't get over how pretty and comfortable it is and that it makes me feel like a ballerina. I love that it is versatile and how it can be combined with a blouse and high heels for a formal occasion or with a t-shirt and flats for a casual, everyday look. 

And cute canvas shoes found on sale are a great match for it!

What do you do when you have a quite busy day and you have very little time between coming home after having spent the day at the city centre and going out for dinner and drinks with the girls? Well you can keep the same clothes, fix your make up and change accessories! All stars and satchel for the morning, high heels and envelope clutch bag for the evening!
