Collars everywhere!

I am sure you have seen them everywhere. You can find them in many different versions, colours, styles. I am of course talking about collars. The great thing about them is that they allow you to transform a simple t-shirt, sweater or shirt in a show-stopping piece! Here you can see mine. They are both from Primark.

Casual Sunday

Yesterday in the afternoon we decided to go visit the Sunday flea market at the centre of the city since the sun was out and then go for lunch. It was a day for a relaxed and casual outfit so I settled for this one. My jeans are by Target, my striped sneakers, my bag and my t-shirt are by Primark, my blazer is by H&M and the sunglasses by Carrera.

Saturday: high heels and furs

Yesterday the day felt like dressing up. Since we were going to a house by car and I wouldn't have to stand up, I thought that would be a great occasion to wear high heels! So I decided to wear my black ankle boots by H&M. These shoes are apparently a big hit among my friends because some of them own them too!

Since it was quite chilly yesterday I decided to wear my fur gilet by Primark, my skinny jeans by H&M, and I combined them with my brand new blouse by Zara, my also brand new necklace by H&M (it was a gift from my friend Vaya) and my bag by Zara that you have seen in recent posts (it is quite new as well, that is why I carry it all the time!).

Here is the detail from the back of the blouse.

Another source of inspiration!

Apart from Harrods, there are other shops that inspire me to become a visual merchandiser! Harvey Nichols is a great example of retailers with excellent window displays. Here you can get a taste from the current displays in the Knightsbridge store.

Fancy slippers

As you many have noticed, slippers are not just for the house anymore. They are very fashionable and you can find them in many version to suit your style. I bought these red studded ones from Zara and they are also available in black and beige.

Yesterday we went for coffee and then around the shops and I decided to wear them. I combined them with my stripped sweater by H&M, my skinny jeans also by H&M, my parka by Kenneth Cole Reaction and my bag by Zara.

It is the season to be fashionably jolly!!

While I was in London for my interview I had the opportunity to go to Harrods and remember why I would love to become a visual merchandiser. The exceptionally elaborate window displays are inspired by the Disney princesses at the moment and it is impossible to walk by without stopping to admire them. I know that it is not the same like seeing them live but here is a small taste!

Dress for success

They say that you should not dress for the job you have but for the one you want. Last Thursday I had an interview in London and of course I was really nervous about the experience. I was really stressed about what I was going to wear because first impressions stay with people, especially when having an interview in a fashion company your image is even more important!
After careful thought and consultations with my sister, my friend Vaya and my boyfriend I decided to wear the outfit that you can see in the picture. The dress is Laura Ashley, the cardigan and tights from Primark, the shoes and purse from Zara and of course my Pandora charm bracelet.

We'll always have Paris

I have been to Paris twice and I have to say that I am very fond of the city! So many things to see, the food and the wine and of course the fashion make it a great place to be.
So I decided to always carry around Paris by buying this charm for my Pandora bracelet. The autumn collection of charms includes more landmarks of cities apart from the Eiffel Tower and I want them all!

A joyous occasion

Yesterday was a happy day for one of my best friends, Ada. She graduated from university and I happened to be here so of course there was no way I would miss sharing this special day with her!
You might recognize the shoes from a previous post. They are Marc by Marc Jacobs. My jeans are Calvin Klein Jeans. My handbag was a present from my sister last Christmas and it is Patrick Cox. My t-shirt is from Zara and the blazer from H&M. My pearl earrings are from Accesorize and the bracelet from an independent jewellery maker that I don't know the name of and I had bought it some years ago from a local shop that is no longer open :(

Chrysoula: The rock princess

My friend Chrysoula works in the music industry and usually wears black, purple and grey. Her hair is naturally curly and she is 1.79 m. high. The strongest feature in her body are her long, thin legs and she likes to accentuate them. Although she generally has a very relaxed, casual style including jeans, leggings and dress shirts, occasionally she likes to dress up.
Her blouse is from Massimo Dutti, her skirt from Stradivarius, her tights are from Calzedonia, her shoes from Promod, her watch from Folli Follie and her ring from Swatch.

Fashions come and go

The good thing about fashion is that although trends only last a season, sooner or later they make a comeback. So if you treat your things with respect and keep them in good condition you can store them and you are likely to be able to use them in a few seasons' time again. That is the case with these two purses.
I bought the dog tooth check clutch a few years ago from Pull&Bear and my sister bought the fur purse from Zara. Both are still in good condition and they are back on trend!! So that means I can save money from purses and add it to my shoes and clothes budget ;)

Special shoes for special occasions

Well I am a big fan of shoes so they are always a very important part of my outfit and I am always considering how I will combine them with my clothes and accessories. But every now and then shoes matter even more. They can be a statement on their own.
When I was graduating from university, I decided not to buy a new dress since no one would be able to really see it underneath my graduation gown. But the shoes were a different story. They needed to stand out in a room full of people in black. So I went for this pair of from Zara that is lovely and I have had the opportunity to wear again ever since!

My masterpiece (?)!

As soon as I came back home, there on my desk in my room was my sketchbook, pencils and colours. From February until May 2011 I took a short fashion design course at Istituto di Moda Burgo in Monterrey, Mexico. I thought I would be the worst student ever because I was never particularly good at sketching, designing, painting etc. But with patience and dedication both from my teacher and my side I slowly started sketching and designing in a way that I never thought I could. After 4 months this is the last design that I was assigned to do. Bear in mind that the clothes are not my creation, I just copied an existing design that I was given!
